One of the main reasons whythis is the case, is because of the greedy corporations and higher powers, that do not care forequal distribution among citizens. Now; someone who is younger, may be unaware of theseissues that have been reoccurring. However, an individual such as myself, who has moreexperience in the world, tends to notice these problems. One of the reasons, is because thenews stations that I watch, point out the economic stock drops and financial difficulties, thatoccur on a day to day basis. However, I have also discussed these issues with an elder I knowof. They have much more experience than me in this field. They have informed me, that themedia hides a lot of aspects about the financial situations of the economy. This elder isconcerned, that the widening gap between the rich and the poor is done on purpose, becausethe government feels like individuals would get too powerful if left unchecked. This hasaffected me greatly, because I have had trouble finding a job. As for the elderly individual,they have had difficulty getting proper health insurance.Two examples of the marketization in society today that Scandel discusses, involvecash for grades, as well as pay for getting around long lines. The problem with cash forgrades, is that if students are being paid for quality work, on a regular basis, then they willonly be motivated, because of their rewards. Now; pay for getting around long lines holdsthe same issues as well. It simply provides more of a means for instant gratification, inrelation to financial aspects. As for marketization, one value that I think would be efficient, isintegrity. The reason I believe this, is because people would be more driven to be selfish,since being an ethical individual, would reward people with money.
