However due to the insufficient transportation facilities and fear of being infected the tourists have stopped coming and visiting Pakistan (Kazmiet al., 2020). This has impacted the tourism industry of Pakistan.
This research emphasizes on the possible reasons for the downfall in the tourism industry due to the deadly covid-19 pandemic during last two years. The main literature of this research will focus on the different impacts that have been disturbing the growth and development of Pakistan tourism. The research paper is adopting the secondary research strategy, because the research will be generated from the secondary data available in the peer articles and news reports available in the domain of the internet. Besides the offline articles and newspaper reports related to the lack of development of Pakistan tourism are going to be discussed with some relevant surveys.
Significance of the research of the project
The tourism industry and hospitality sector of Pakistan is already suffering from some obvious downfall during the last few decades. Still, the national government of this country was thriving to ensure the choices of the tourists towards them to ensure profitability from the respective sector. This research is significant because Pakistan tourism has stepped a little forward to ensure the Global Citizens about the security from terrorist activities. This country has signed several treaties and agreements with the United Nations in the covid-19 make stopped the inflow of tourists in the country. The country is already devastated due to several terrorist activities and almost every industry is destroyed due to the continuous warfare and terrorist attacks. The national government has identified the tourism industry as the only way to improve the economy of the country as no foreign investors were interested to invest capital in the Pakistani organizations due to the risk of an emergency (Tourism.gov.pk, 2022). As the country is situated in the lap of the Himalayan Mountain range it has natural scenic beauty which attracts foreign tourists, and the national government receives generous and sufficient revenue from this sector. The present problem of the research is the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on Pakistani tourism. Besides, the research is going to be significant because until and unless the impacts are not mitigated the GDP of the country is going to suffer a lot. On the other hand, the unemployment issue will again become a scorching problem to the national economy.

The research aims to explore the impact of covid-19 in the tourism industry of Pakistan.

To find out the mitigation strategies adopted by the Government to recover Pakistan tourism industry from the decline
To justify the significance of Pakistan tourism on the national economy of Pakistan.

The literature review part of this research has been conducted based on the objectives of the research. The thematic analysis of the secondary data collected from the different news reports and articles that we the following scenarios. According to the tourism board of Islamabad, the government has declared the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic in the year 2020 and it directly affected Pakistan tourism (Abbaset al., 2021). The inflow of tourists from the foreign land has decreased to follow the protocol and restrictions of the national government of Pakistan as well as the local tourism boards. Several international flights were canceled from Pakistan as well as other countries were not also running the international flights to stop the commencement of foreign tourists who can be the carriers of the deadly disease. It has directly impacted the economic activities related to the tourism industries and besides, impacting the industry the pandemic has impacted the national economy (Rasheedet al., 2021).
According to Prime Minister Imran Khan, the promotional activities of Pakistan tourism are compelled to be stopped to prioritize the health-related safety and security of the tourists coming from abroad as well as the local citizens. With the unforeseen result and the unpredictable circumstances of Covid-19, the planet was suffering from an unknown fear. Billions of people were affected due to the pandemic, and it caused the sudden death of many people. The planet has stood in front of a strange situation and the economic downfall has impacted the entire industrial world which resulted in a sudden downfall of the global economy (Javed, 2020). Standing in the middle of this situation people are more focused on maintaining the basic needs of their livelihoods and entertainment has become the second choice for them. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the economy and tourism sector of Pakistan are discussed below:
During the covid-19 pandemic the tourism and hospitality industry of Pakistan has experienced a lot of challenges because the Tourist from abroad have stopped visiting the country and the revenue generated from this industry has decreased to the extent of 7.1% which disturbed the gross domestic product of the country till the end of 2020 (Tourism.gov.pk, 2022). The Pakistani Government and the citizens of the country had the hope to develop the economic condition of the country by earning foreign currency due to the commencement of foreign travelers which has stopped for the recent pandemic. All the strategic steps that had been taken up by the national government failed due to the restriction of transportation and other protocols implemented by the United Nations.
Besides the loss of the national economy, the individual citizens of this country started suffering due to the impact of this pandemic. Pakistan is already devastated by the continuous practice of Warfare and terrorist attacks which made the country an underdeveloped nation and the Pakistani citizens do not find proper employment to maintain their livelihoods. Due to the negative impacts of the covid-19 pandemic, the tourism industry has started suffering and the people employed in this particular industry have lost their job or did not get their salary to maintain their family and livelihood.
The third impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the economy of Pakistan is related to the supporting industry generated from the tourism sector. There are different regions of Pakistan that are naturally beautiful and when the tourism industry generates over those areas some related Industries such as transportation, hotel industry, and handicraft industry are also developing parallelly. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Global citizens stopped visiting the country which has become the reason for the decline of all these industries.

This research paper is going to adopt the secondary data collection method. All the data and information is going to be collected from scholarly articles and news reports. As the collected data are gathered from secondary sources the data analysis technique well adopts the tool of thematic analysis. On the other hand, the research strategy is going to be a secondary research strategy because all the resources are secondary for this particular research paper. The research paper will adopt the positivism philosophy, inductive research approach, and exploratory Research Design to complete the final research paper. On the other hand, the final research paper will provide a further description and justification of the chosen research strategy, philosophy, approach, and design (Tourism.gov.pk, 2022).
