The first strategy has to do with categorizing everything that you want to talk about. For example, my topic has to do with hearing devices, older adults, low-income communities, and it’s a grant proposal. I have all these different sections that I need to talk about. Therefore, I need to find research first on every section of all of the things I described above. I first need to find anything that has to do with the communities’ health as well as their needs based on other research and programs that have been done (Fink, 2013). This has to do with finding the best evidence that has to do with my question, my practical concerns as well as the ethics of the entire community as well (Fink, 2013). Once we have gathered all of the research and the science behind the hypothesis, for example, then we are able to gather the information and separate which information will go where. After that is done, we are able to write the paper or the ground proposal.
We know that quantitative data has to do with numeric variables that have to do with how many, how much, or even how often (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2015). Qualitative data has to do with the measures of types or can represent a section, for example, names, symbols, number codes (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2015). I think I would consider my pilot a part of the qualitative and quantitative data as it was a type of study that was done. The information I have of each resident would be considered qualitative data. A lot of the evidence I have gathered has to do with statistics which could be a majority of the quantitative data that I have gathered as well as a lot of the interviews that I have done with an audiologist. I think the first strategy that I described at the beginning of my discussion post is exactly what I have been doing and will continue to do with this next section of my grand proposal. I am a very to the book very organized person. I think this is why I will continue to do everything by categories and different sections. Just because it makes my life easier, and I feel like I am able to make sure that I’m hitting all the key points I need to if I follow this process.
