In any society, nurses play a great role, including ensuring accurate diagnosesand educating the public concerning critical health issues. For this reason, nurses areconsidered indispensable as far as the safeguarding of public health is concerned. There areseveral theories, concepts, and frameworks to help ensure nursing continues to deliver greatresults to society. Different nurses use different methods, theories, and frameworks to guidethem in their nursing profession. I am not an exception. This paper is a critical description ofmy personal approach to professional nursing practice.The philosophy\/conceptual framework\/theory\/middle-range theory that describesnursing in the way I think about itThe nursing theory or framework that describes nursing in the manner I think about itis the Philosophy and Caring Model by Jean Watson. The primary concern of this theory isthe manner in which nurses express care to their patients. According to this framework, thenursing profession is primarily concerned with promoting health, prevention of illness, thecaring of the sick people, and the restoration of health (Watson & Woodward, 2010). As perthis theory, the nursing main concern is the promotion of health as well as the treatment ofdiverse diseases.
