• The immigration crisis taking place in Italy today.
• Images of America in Italian cinema and culture
• Presence and interference/integration of foreign cultures into the indigenous Italian society
• Older generations/newer generations
• Differences between the South and the North

In order tosupport your thesis, refer to specific evidence from the films, be detailedabout scenes and cinematic strategies used by the directors, for example theuse of camera movement, light and angle shots, and specific characters andtheir personal story within the narrative of the film or films analyzed.

VERY IMPORTANT:do not focus on one film only: choose a topic of interest and compare and bringevidence from at least two or more films; use appropriate sources to supportyour ideas. Find attached a bibliography of texts which address all topicsdiscussed in class this semester. Make sure to refer to one or more of theseacademic essays in your paper. State your personal view, use the support ofevidence, conclude with your argument and formulate what your message/point ofview would be.
