Phase 3. Implementation
For this phase, your instructor will observe you implementing activities with children, and will enter a score based on the observation.
Students are required to implement the curriculum activities that they developed in Phase 2 in their practicum classroom. The practicum instructor will try to observe the implementation of the curriculum and assess the students’ performance in three areas: preparation, transition, and interaction. Students are required to implement the activities/lessons appropriately, including transitions in and out of the activities.
Students are required to interact and facilitate children’s learning with appropriate verbal/nonverbal communication, using appropriate guidance techniques, asking open-ended/explorative questions, and providing opportunities for children to be creative/expressive.
If the implementation is not observed in person, video submissions of the implementation must be submitted here.

- How planned curriculum/lessons/activities are implemented in the classroom
- How the activities are prepared (materials and environment ready, student prepared for children’s reactions to the activities)
- How developmentally appropriate guidance techniques/interactions are performed.
- How transitions into and out of each segment of lessons/activities are seamlessly carried out
- How opportunities to be creative, expressive, explorative, and flexible are provided
- How verbal/nonverbal interactions are appropriately performed
