BUS 303 Grantham University Oranges Between USA and Japan Paper
Oranges Between the USA and JapanThe USA and Japan were in negotiations for a period of ten years, (1977 – 1988) over oranges. The Americans had certain goals that they wanted to accomplish in these negotiations. These goals included; exporting of American oranges in the Japanese market, demand that Japan liberalizes its market, and to eliminate the trade barriers in Japan. The Japanese also had their own goals that they wanted to accomplish in the negotiation process. These included; maintaining its positive image outside Japan, avoiding intervention from GATT (General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs), and to avoid sanctions from abroad. Initially, the Japanese refused to negotiate right away, and started negotiating only when Americans threatened them that they would take the issue to GATT panel. Using Hofstede’s Model of Cultural Dimensions from our textbook, compare and contrast the cultural differences that might influence both parties. Based on the cultural differences, develop a culturally responsive negotiation strategy for American negotiators to deal with Japanese negotiators. Positioning of international air passenger carriers using multidimensional scaling and correspondence analysis. Transportation Journal, 49(1), 7-23.Read and cite the required articles listed above, supplemented with other articles related to passenger airline industry as well as United and Delta Airlines, and develop a report in terms of the following guidelines. A well-written report should have a brief introduction, headings or subheadings, and a brief concluding comment. Note that you should use some keywords as headings or subheadings such as “Key External Factors,” instead of a sentence or a question. Identify and explain key external factors that affect the passenger airline industry. Evaluate the websites of United and Delta Airlines and discuss what airline segment each company is based on. Díaz and Martín-Consuegra (2016). Contrast United and Delta Airlines in terms of each company’s target market and positioning. Give some examples of how these strategies are implemented by each company. What suggestions can you offer to the CMOs at United and Delta Airlines to improve their market position? Assignment ExpectationsWrite clearly, simply, and logically. Your paper should be 750-1,500 words, excluding title pages and references, but quality of writing is more important than length. Use double-spaced, black Verdana or Times Roman font in 12 pt. type size. Back up your positions or opinions with references to the required reading found in the Background and Ongoing Useful Resources. In using those references, demonstrate your understanding of the concepts presented. Rather than grading on how much information you find, emphasis will be on the defense of the positions you take on the issues. Also remember: The “why” is more important than the “what.” The defense of your positions on the issues is more important than the positions you take. Paraphrase the facts using your own words and ideas, employing quotes sparingly. Quotes, if absolutely necessary, should not be more than a few words. When writing an academically oriented paper, you will uncover many facts about the product. If you paraphrase the facts, cite the sources in your text and link those citations to references at the end of the paper. Task 2: Prepare a one- to two-page executive summary for the vice president of marketing for DIRECTV. Task 3: Prepare a three- to five-page description for the files of this project, describing its results. The major topic headings should be the same as those that are in the book. BackgroundApplying text miningTaking the technical approachContinuing to benefit Task 4: Using Figure 21-8 below, identify the portion of this effort that is data preparation and the portion that is data analysis. The figure below shows the process for data analysis using arrows and boxes. The steps are raw text documents, term cleansing (parsing, misspelling, stemming, synonyms, and stop list), text to numbers, and finally, clustering. The text note for term cleansing is manual review and maintenance of new terms. The visual picture of a spreadsheet used to show documents summarized by most important terms in between steps text to numbers and clustering. At the end, where clustering takes place, a picture of cluster ball is used to illustrate the common customer issues identified by a cluster of similar documents. What do you think the relative percentages between the two are if you are measuring total staff time? Why do you believe this to be the case? Do you think that BI analysts were involved in the data preparation phase? If so, to what extent?
